Volunteer medical students were able to enhance their knowledge and skills through the supervision of Dr. Del Rosario who taught them how to properly examine pediatric patients with congenital heart defects and the principles behind the PDA repair.

The OpeRA has been providing medical, surgical and financial support to selected indigent pediatric surgical patients of the Philippine General Hospital. The cost of the operation including pre and post operative needs are shouldered by Phi International. The operations themselves are conducted mostly by volunteer surgeon brothers of the Phi Kappa Mu who are the best at their field. OpeRA also opens up great opportunities for learning and experience to the medical students as they are encouraged to assist in the operation themselves.
